Our Work

Refugee Week

Counterpoints Arts produces and coordinates Refugee Week UK.

Working with our Refugee Week national partners, our role includes developing annual themes, producing artwork and promo materials, coordinating media and social media campaigns, managing the website and providing resources, information and support to organisers. We also produce a flagship Refugee Week programme at some of the UK’s most prestigious cultural venues.

Founded in 1998, Refugee Week is the UK’s largest festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees. Using the arts, culture and education, Refugee Week aims to create spaces where the contributions of refugees are celebrated, people from different communities enjoy positive encounters and refugee experiences are shared and understood in new ways. Refugee Week is an umbrella festival, and every year hundreds of organisers hold hundreds of events across the UK, including in theatres, galleries, museums, cinemas, schools, universities and faith and community settings.
