Pop Culture and Social Justice
Counterpoints Arts is in the process of piloting a newly funded cross-sector Pop Culture and Social Justice initiative. The aim of the initiative will be to leverage the reach and power of pop culture for social justice goals, specifically in relation to migrants and refugees in the UK. To do so we will be collaborating with various partners and funders and developing a range of cross-sector conversations across the arts, media, entertainment, voluntary and philanthropy sectors with a view to enabling more partnership working.
This initiative comes off the back of a similar work that has been happening in the US over the last few years, and in response to a recent report on the subject written by our trustee, Alice Sachrajda. More information can be found in this report.
We are currently in the process of recruiting a Pop Culture Creative Producer who will be leading on the project. So watch this space!
