We were delighted to welcome a team from BBC Arts to our Platforma Festival in Leicester in November.
Overall we helped them make four films, including one about the Platforma Conference.
The films were part of a season curated by Vicky Featherstone (artistic director of the Royal Court Theatre) and included pieces on The Paper Project, Zodwa Nyoni and Yasmin Fedda. You can view the entire season on the BBC Arts website.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to and participated in our third biennial Platforma Festival in Leicester. The range of performances and exhibitions was tremendous. The Platforma International session brought together an extraordinary range of artists and organisations from across Europe and beyond to develop plans for new networks and collaborations. And the Platforma Conference was two days of learning, sharing and networking in a wonderfully open and inclusive atmosphere.
A few comments from the feedback:
- “Highlights: The ‘inclusivity’ (share of practice), The ‘journey’ (the learning), the music/dance (seeing other arts practices), the fun (the conversations)”
- “Platforma 2015 was one of the best networking events / experiences I have had – and I’ve had a lot!”
- “An extraordinary opportunity to meet other people engaged in refugee issues and working between the UK and elsewhere.”
- “Inspiring and stimulating”
- “Friendly and engaging”
Meanwhile, Tory Davidson has written a short blog on her personal reflections here: platforma.org.uk/reflections-on-platforma-conference-2015
