Here’s a link to a short film and publication on our Learning Lab Editions website – DIGGING UP THE ARTS GARDEN, featuring Hassan Mahamdallie (former Senior Strategy Officer at Arts Council England) talking about the groundwork for ACE’s ‘Creative Case for Diversity’ agenda. A hard fought for arts policy benefiting many yet not without its detractors. Hassan takes us back to the nitty gritty negotiations behind re-framing diversity and equality policies within the arts, mixing the personal with the political and connecting up some of the wider social issues.
This film and longer memoir forms part of our Arts and Social Change Series exploring why and how art matters in relation to social change, specifically migration.
More soon on several Learning Labs from our Boundaries of Collaborative and Participatory Arts, Communities of Place Series.
Learning Lab Editions is driven by Creative Commons and runs in partnership with the British Council.
