Join us to explore how arts, culture, education and the media can bring communities together and help change the conversation about refugees.

Please let us know if you need support with travel, childcare or in any other way.

The Kent Refugee Week Conference is an afternoon of inspiration, networking and discussion in preparation for Refugee Week (15-21 June), which for 2020 has the theme ‘Imagine’.

In addition to two national conferences (London & Bristol) we are holding events around the country, including in Kent to build on work done for the Platforma 5 festival last year and to look at how Refugee Week events across Kent and Medway can be better connected.

Whether you’re involved in arts and culture, sports, education, activism, media, community work and/ or are from a refugee background yourself – and whether you’re a Refugee Week veteran, or getting involved for the first time – all are welcome!

The Refugee Week Conference in Kent is held in partnership with Platforma and produced by  Counterpoints Arts (Refugee Week UK Coordinators). Many thanks to Turner Contemporary for their support.

We look forward to seeing you there! You are invited to join us before the meeting (12.30-1.30) for a free tour of the new exhibition We Will Walk – Art and Resistance in the American South)
